SINGAPORE / UNITED KINGDOM – 23 March 2026. StateSquare Capital today announced the appointment of Alvaro Aguirre to its Portfolio Advisory Council (“PAC”), further strengthening the firm’s ability to support strategic value creation across its control investments.
Alvaro, who is based in the United States, brings more than 30 years of experience as a board director, operating executive, and investor, with a distinguished track record of working closely with financial sponsors and management teams to scale global businesses and drive long-term value creation. Throughout his career, he has developed deep expertise across strategy development, operational improvement, talent management, M&A, financings, and exits.
His industry experience spans data and information services, technology, software, and business services, sectors that closely align with StateSquare’s thematic investment focus and global growth strategy.
Earlier in his career, Alvaro served as a Managing Director at Warburg Pincus, where he worked in principal investing. Prior to that, he held roles as an investment banker at Morgan Stanley and as a securities attorney at Sullivan & Cromwell, building a strong foundation across capital markets, advisory, and legal disciplines. He later served in senior leadership positions at several media and technology companies, where he was instrumental in shaping corporate strategy, driving growth initiatives, and supporting successful financings and exits.
As a member of the Portfolio Advisory Council, Alvaro will work alongside StateSquare’s investment professionals and portfolio company leadership teams, providing strategic insight across the investment lifecycle – from thematic origination and diligence through post-investment value creation and governance.
